FINANCIAL POLICY

At Aesthetic Reconstruction Center, our financial policy reflects our commitment to offering exceptional and conservative dental care. Aesthetic Reconstruction Center and our team prioritize your long-term dental well-being. To support you in investing in your dental health, we have detailed our office philosophy and payment guidelines.

We offer a range of comprehensive services including restorative, prosthetic, cosmetic, implant, and periodontal treatments, which can be intricate and thorough. We believe it's vital for our patients to fully comprehend the procedures and associated fees. Prior to scheduling any treatment, our office will discuss your financial responsibilities with you. Feel free to ask any questions you may have before starting treatment. Our recommendations are always tailored to what is optimal for each patient's well-being.

Our expertise excels through our thorough oral evaluations, meticulous treatment planning, and high-quality clinical and lab materials selection. This process guides us in recommending the most effective and conservative treatment options for each patient. We strive to provide top-notch care and kindly ask for payments to be settled at the time of service, unless prior arrangements have been agreed upon.

INSURANCE

Our office does not dictate insurance benefits. The dentist recommends treatments based on clinical evaluations and discussions about the patient's needs and objectives. Dental insurances typically do not tailor their coverage to individual needs, so there may be disparities between your treatment requirements and covered benefits. It's essential not to confuse uncovered services with unnecessary treatments for your oral health. Your dental plan is a benefit provided by your employer for compensation. Generally, the insurance company will deduct your deductible and reimburse a portion of our fees, as outlined in the agreement between your employer and the insurance provider. Increased employer premiums often correlate to more extensive coverage.

If you've obtained private dental insurance, you might observe waiting periods for specific treatments and limits on the frequency of certain procedures in some plans. We strongly recommend that you understand your insurance plan's coverage, benefits, and co-payments by reaching out to them before your initial appointment. Please keep in mind that you are accountable for all charges from our office, irrespective of your insurance coverage. While we are not directly involved in your insurance agreement, we are committed to assisting you in obtaining the maximum reimbursement you qualify for.

Upon request, we can send a predetermination if you are covered by insurance. We will submit all claims electronically as a courtesy. A down payment is mandatory for complex or extensive treatments, irrespective of the estimated insurance payment. Any remaining balances not covered by insurance must be settled at the time of service. Since insurance plans differ, even within the same company, we will assist you in addressing questions and issues regarding your benefits to the best of our abilities.

Rest assured that we are committed to offering you our top-notch services, regardless of any constraints set by your insurance coverage.

INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT -
USUAL AND CUSTOMARY FEE (UCR)

You might observe that occasionally, your dental insurance reimburses you or the dentist at a rate lower than the dentist’s actual fee. Insurance companies often justify this by stating that the reimbursement was decreased because the dentist’s fee surpassed the usual, customary, or reasonable fee (“UCR”) set by the company. Such a statement may imply that any fee exceeding the amount paid by the insurance company is considered excessive or significantly higher than the average charges by general dentists in the area for a specific service.

It's important to note that this information can be quite misleading and is not entirely accurate. Insurance companies establish their own fee schedules, and each company employs a distinct set of fees they deem acceptable. These allowable fees can differ significantly as each company gathers fee data from the claims they handle. Subsequently, the insurance company selects a level they term as the “allowable” UCR fee based on this data, which can often be outdated, ranging from three to five years old. The “allowable” fees are typically set by insurance companies to ensure a net profit margin of 20%-30%.

Regrettably, insurance companies tend to suggest that your general dentist is "overcharging" rather than admitting that they are "underpaying" or that their coverage is limited. Typically, more affordable insurance policies will employ a lower usual, customary, or reasonable (UCR) figure.

In Dentistry, unlike in Medicine, this system fails to consider the quality of care provided, along with the varying levels of qualifications among dentists, laboratories, and materials used, which can be immeasurable and inconsistent.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Payment for standard services like examinations, x-rays, impressions, and emergency visits is expected at the time of service. You have the option for insurance claims to be filed by the office or file your own claim and receive direct reimbursement.

OPEN ACCOUNT PAYMENT PLAN TREATMENT FEES

Flexible Payment Plan for Treatment Fees Our Open Account Payment Plan offers the convenience of dividing treatment fees into two or three equal payments. This plan is ideal for individuals undergoing complex treatments and seeking a more adaptable payment structure. With this plan, three equal payments are spread out over the active treatment period. The initial payment of one-third is due at the start of treatment, the second payment is required at the midpoint of treatment, and the final payment is expected upon completing active treatment. Additionally, a monthly payment plan is an option, with the final payment due at the conclusion of treatment. To assist our patients, all payment plans are interest-free. It's essential to arrange financial details before the first treatment visit.

Accepted Payment Methods and Contact Information We welcome various forms of payment, including cash, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, personal or cashier’s checks, and money orders. If you encounter any issues or have questions, our knowledgeable and current staff are here to assist you. For inquiries or assistance, please contact us at (847) 673-2455.
